It can Support a leg that is either in a Cast or Healing Without a cast. It is used while the patient is Resting, since while at rest the leg tends to rotate outward. The Patient feels Pain with Outward Rotation because the foot rotates at a greater angle than the upper leg, stretching injured nerves &/or separating broken bones. *Medical Fact : The foot rotates outward about 15 degrees more than the upper leg when lying down. That causes the fractured bones, hematoma, callus, torn nerves-vessels-tendons and ligaments to rotationally move 15 degrees apart when lying down. This interupts healing of blood vessels needed for new bone to grow well. "Yet, only when there is - less than 5 degrees of malrotation - is the healing ideal.
