HUG-A-LEG tm Product is an anti-rotation device applied to the leg to provide Control of External rotation and Internal rotation by External Fixation of the leg. It can Support a leg that is either in a Cast or Healing Without a cast. It is used while the patient is Resting, since while at rest the leg tends to rotate outward. The Patient feels Pain with Outward Rotation because the foot rotates at a greater angle than the upper leg, stretching injured nerves &/or separating broken bones.

*Medical Fact : The foot rotates outward about 15 degrees more than the upper leg when lying down. That causes the fractured bones, hematoma, callus, torn nerves-vessles-tendons and ligaments to rotationally move 15 degrees apart when lying down. This interupts healing of blood vessles needed for new bone to grow well.

"Yet, only when there is - less than 5 degrees of malrotation - is the healing ideal. More than 5 degrees of rotational angulation results in various degrees of malalignment -- with a long term outcome of subsequent arthritis and cartilage degeneration at the joints proximal and distal to the fracture. Peak pressures of malaligned bones - are responsible for degeneration of the joints along the kinetic chain. This is well documented in the Medical literature and is costly to national health system"
